When you open this page, ToolBox requests current mid-market exchange rates from a public rate provider. Your amount is first converted to USD as a base, then into your target currency. If the live source can't be reached, the tool switches to fixed reference rates and tells you.
Live mid-market rates are fetched from a public API each time the page loads. If unavailable, fixed reference rates are used and labelled as such.
